X-Y Table

Preac Tool Co. has developed a miniature X-Y Table for use on its Micro-Precision Drill Press or any other small drill press.   The Preac X-Y Table will precisely locate work on 2 axis at 90 degrees to each other, or any 2 axis pattern (hex, square, a ring of holes on a pitch curve, etc.) and for light milling of intricate shapes in wood, metal and plastic.  The travel of the slides is 3 1/2" in the X axis and 2 1/2" in the Y axis.  The dials for movement of the table are graduated in 0.001 of an inch.  One revolution of the dial moves the table .050.
The unit is constructed of aluminum with a hard anodized finish for protection and wear resistance.  Holes are provided to attach it to a drill press table and to attach fixtures or a vise to the table top.  A sub-base is available to clamp the table to larger drill presses.
We also offer a small vise to mount on the table for holding the work piece.  The vise can be supplied with a tilting base that will tilt to 90 degrees.  The vise has removable jaws that can be machined for holding special parts.  A vee-jaw is available for holding round parts, there are also step jaws and parallels to support thin parts.
A 2" Rotary Table can be mounted on the X-Y table for creating round patterns or mounted on our angle plate so it can be used as a dividing head.   The entire unit weights approximately 2 pounds.

Rotary Table
For horizontal uses, The Rotary Table can be attached directly to the Preac X-Y Table with the screws supplied or to any milling machine table.
For vertical use as a dividing head attach the Preac Angle Plate with the screws provided and attach the Angle Plate to the X-Y Table to hold in the vise of the milling machine.
To locate the center of the rotary table, place a step pin in the drill chuck and center in the 3/16" hole in the rotary table.
Parts or material being machined can be located on the rotary table by the center hole and secured by the clamps that are available.
When not using the rotary table, place in a box or plastic bag to prevent dirt from getting into the gearing.  A small amount of grease can be placed on the gears if necessary.
A locking screw is provided on the side of the base to secure the table when drilling or c'boring.  Do not overtighten, only a small amount of tension is necessary.
Play between the worm and worm wheel can be adjusted by loosening the two screws holding the worm shaft and pushing the block toward the center while retightening the screws.  Do not make the fit too tight or the table will be difficult to turn.
Use a soft pencil to mark the "0" Position or start point on the base.
